EAST CRESTVIEW
An island was the client’s top priority in this long, narrow kitchen. To make it work, we designed a wall of 15” deep cabinetry instead of the traditional 25” depth, while placing appliances along the opposite wall. Though not a classic kitchen triangle, the island ties the workspace together perfectly and provides ample walk space on both sides. Floor-to-ceiling shallow cabinetry also allowed us to incorporate the client’s second priority—open shelving—for displaying her collection of art and objects.
Since the 1956 kitchen was long overdue for a remodel, we refreshed the space with modern black cabinetry, antique brass hardware, quartz countertops, white oak herringbone flooring, and layered lighting. The finishing touch is a hand-painted wall mural in vibrant colors chosen by the homeowner, bringing her personality vividly to life in the space.
