Picking the Perfect Dining Table
This time of year has us thinking about dining tables. This is the spot where everyone comes together as friends and family to celebrate, but is also a part of everyday life. Choosing the right dining table for your home can get overwhelming, and we understand why. The nearly endless options make it difficult to pick the perfect one for your lifestyle. Fret no more, we’re sharing a few tips on how to narrow down your options and make the right decision!
How big is the room?
Whether you’re searching for a formal dining room, breakfast nook, or something for your eat-in kitchen, you have to know the size of the space. Measure the room and keep those numbers handy while searching.
How many guests would you like to fit at your table?
The answer to this question will start your dining table journey off in the right direction. Tables come in different sizes and knowing how many people you want to accommodate will simplify your search. Remember that each diner will need about two feet of room at the table to sit comfortably.
What table size is right for your space?
Since rooms vary in shapes and sizes, a good guideline to allow diners to sit down and get up easily from their seats is to try and leave 42-48″ between your table and the walls or other furniture in the room. Your room measurements will come in handy with this.
What shape of dining table should you go with?
The answer to this question depends on what your room allows and what kind of dining experience you would like to have. Rectangular tables fit most rooms, but can get overcrowded easily. Square tables are great for square shaped spaces and allow for more intimate dining since everyone is an equal distant apart. Circle tables are great for seating many people, but can make reaching for food difficult on larger sizes.
