Asisstant

Blue is a beautiful white Shepherd-Healer mix male dog. He belongs to J. Kent Martin and Nathan Taylor. On July 4, 2005 while driving down a street near their home and they saw a dog lying on the side of the road, left for dead. J. went to a house nearby and asked for a towel to wrap him in and as he was attempting to get him in the car to take him to the doctor the person that had run over him came with his friend and their gun and were going to shoot him. Nathan and J said absolutely not and proceeded to take Blue to an Emergency Vet for treatment.

Blue had a broken hip, front leg, and his under-belly was totally stripped of its skin. He spent many days and nights in the care of the vet until they were finally able to take him home and continue to care for him. Of course, Blue wanted to chew on his wounds, therefore he was assigned to wear a cone on his head to keep him away from the wounds. It was years before his leg healed enough to remove the cone. However, that has been a continual discomfort for him until now. He also limps from his hip and the arthritis it has developed.

Blue is a kind, sweet, lovable animal that is everyone’s friend. He has been the model for several artists and even has a sculpture of himself. He is best friends with Willie, who he lives with every day and shares his home. They both are permanent members of the Taylor-Martin staff and arrive at the office early in the morning and stay until the last ones in the evening. Their feeding time is 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. They have other staff members trained to feed them on time and take them to the state-of-the-art dog run that is available at the building. At home they have their own doggie door to let themselves in and out as needed.
