Kitchen Duty – Bringing Loved Ones Together
When it comes to creating beautiful spaces that are personal, unique, and functional, it’s hard to find someone more talented than Nathan Taylor. Because he works on so many different projects, the Obelisk Home team was curious about what his favorite room to design was, so we asked! The answer? Kitchens!
His response was quick and assured, and didn’t surprise us one bit. Anyone who knows Nathan will attest to his love of family and his philosophy that spaces should be designed to bring people together. Kitchens do just that.
The kitchen is the center of a household and a family’s day-to-day living revolves around this room. This is the part of the home that people gather to socialize, eat, and cook together. We’re betting it’s where most of us start our day with breakfast and hot cup of coffee. The kitchen isn’t just a place to prepare food, it’s a place of bonding.
Nathan knows this to be true. Coming from a big family, the kitchen was sometimes the only place where everyone was together in the same room on a regular basis. Creating the heart of a home is not something Nathan takes lightly, he knows that the kitchen isn’t just going to tie the house together, but it also ties together loved ones.
So what does the perfect kitchen consist of? The answer isn’t as straight forward as you may have guessed. Because the kitchen is such a personal place, no two kitchens are the same. The perfect kitchen consists of whatever the family’s lifestyle calls for.
Here’s a look at some of the kitchens that Nathan and the Obelisk Home team have created:
