Question 1: What is your most significant inspiration?

Answer 1: My most significant inspiration is the beauty I find in the natural world.

Question 2: List three artists you most admire.

Answer 2: Three Artists I admire most, it’s hard to pick I have so many! Casper David Friedrich, J.M.W. Turner, and present day Julie Heffernan.

Question 3: How did you start artmaking?

Answer 3: I began drawing as a young girl to escape the chaos of a large family.

Question 4: What is your favorite artwork you’ve created and why?

Answer 4: My favorite artwork is always the one I’m working on, it’s sort of like a romance.

Question 5: What is your proudest moment as an artist?

Answer 5: My proudest moment as an artist is when I hear my kids brag about me.

Question 6: What are some of your recent accomplishments?

Answer 6: My most recent accomplishment was being accepted to a national art exhibit.

Question 7: What is your favorite artist tool?

Answer 7: My favorite artist tool is my cell phone. I look up images, ideas, I photograph my work as it progresses and can see things I don’t catch with the naked eye.

Question 8: How has your work changed since you’ve been creating?

Answer 8: My work has changed in that I am mixing more abstract elements with representational ones.

Question 9: Do you do anything special to get your “creative juices” flowing?

Answer 9: All I have to do to get my creative juices flowing is enter my studio and smell the paint, then I can’t wait to start painting.
